Summary
Born on April Fool's Day in the American Midwest, Stacia Joy grew up surrounded by animals, forests, and thunderstorms that split the sky. Originally an aspiring paleontologist, she discovered her call to adventure through storytelling after reading Robert Louis Stevenson's KIDNAPPED and all the Wikipedia articles about the X-Men. Following the call, she graduated from the Rhode Island School of Design:CE with an illustration certificate in 2017.
Now at home in the Pacific Northwest, she creates digital and mixed-media illustrations and character designs with a thoughtful, backstory-rich approach and clean, graphic look. In her free time she also writes speculative fiction with a side of sass, grit, and honesty about what hurts and what gives hope, and tries to hike things, drink a lot of coffee, and become one of those fit ninja people.
